PIN Diode Switch, SPDT, 9kHz~20GHz, Absorptive

PIN switch is a solid-state electronic switch that uses PIN diode as the core component to control the on/off or switching of RF signal channels through electrical signals, and is widely used in the RF field.

Characteristics:

Fast switching speed: The switching speed can reach nanoseconds or even microseconds, far faster than traditional mechanical switches.
Wide operating frequency: Capable of covering from tens of kHz to tens of GHz (such as 9kHz~20GHz).
High isolation and low insertion loss: It can effectively suppress interference (isolation up to 30dB) while maintaining low signal energy loss (insertion loss as low as 3.0dB).
High linearity and high power capacity: With minimal signal distortion and the ability to handle high-power RF signals.
Absorption type: The non-conductive port absorbs signals from an internal 50Ω load, with the characteristic and advantage of providing excellent impedance matching (low VSWR) at all ports, making it particularly suitable for building testing systems that require precise signal transmission and matching.
Solid state design: Compared to mechanical switches, PIN switches are all solid state, with small size, long lifespan, and high reliability.

Applications:

Communication system: Commonly used for antenna transmission and reception (T/R) switching in base stations, mobile phones, and other devices, allowing transmission and reception to share the same antenna.
Radar system: Widely used for T/R switching and control signal transmission and reception in phased array radar and airborne/shipborne radar.
Electronic warfare: Applied to Electronic Warfare (EW) devices to achieve fast signal routing, interference, and more.
Testing and measurement: It is the core of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), used to switch between signal sources, analyzers, and tested components to achieve efficient testing.
Research and laboratory: Used for instrument calibration, signal routing, etc. Its absorption architecture can provide excellent port matching.
