    A comb generator is a type of microwave/RF signal source used to generate equally spaced frequency components. Its output spectrum resembles the teeth of a comb—a series of spectral lines with similar amplitudes and uniform frequency spacing in the frequency domain, hence the name. This class of products multiplies a low-frequency, stable reference signal up to an extremely wide bandwidth through nonlinear circuits, providing the system with dense, known, and stable frequency markers. It is essentially a "multi-frequency ruler in the frequency domain." Serving as a bridge between low-frequency references and high-frequency wideband systems, the comb generator plays an irreplaceable, reference-level role in fields such as test and measurement, communications, and electronic warfare.

    Comb generator has the following characteristics:

    1. Wideband Coverage, Single Output: Simultaneously outputs multiple discrete frequency points covering an ultra-wideband spectrum, eliminating the need to switch between multiple single-frequency sources and greatly improving test efficiency.
    2. High Frequency Stability: All comb teeth are locked to an external reference source, thus possessing the same long-term stability and low phase noise as the reference source.
    3. Flat Amplitude Response: Through wideband matching and equalization circuit design, the output power variation between comb teeth is controlled within a small range, facilitating system equal-amplitude calibration.
    4. Compact Size, Low Power Consumption: Typically adopted in miniaturized module packaging with low power consumption, supporting flexible power supply methods and easy integration into portable equipment or automated test systems.
    5. Adjustable Step Interval: Some designs support fine-tuning the frequency spacing between comb teeth via voltage or digital interfaces to accommodate different channel bandwidths or test resolution requirements.
